You have short time in Morocco but still want to complete your Morocco desert tour at Marrakech & Fes? It is very possible to do! Morocco desert excursions or Morocco desert trips into the dunes on the camel will make you experience the camel caravans that are used to travel since centuries-old routes seeking cool oasis, springs of water and dealing in salt and spices.
1st Day : Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Zagora Desert
Drive little further to the desert over the high Atlas mountains through Tizi N'tishka pass. Along the way you will see the traditional Berber farmers using the terraced style of planting for their farms on the mountains side. Continue to Zagora via the Anti Atlas Mountains and the beautiful Draa valley with its 3 million palm trees where you will stop to explore the old villages and the Kasbahs. Arrive at the desert and start the camel ride. Spend your night under nomadic tent.
2nd Day : Sahara Desert - Ouarzazate - Kasbah de Ait Ben Haddou - Back to Marrakech
You will wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the dunes and drive back to Marrakech through the same road as the first day. But on that day we will cover the famous Casbah of Ait Ben Haddou where many movies were filmed such as 'Babel', 'Gladiator' and 'Tea in the Sahara'. And then continue to Marrakech where we drop you off there at your accommodation.
1st Day : Marrakech - Dades Valley
Depart to Dades Gorges over the high Atlas Mountains through Tizi N'tichka Pass. On the side of the mountains you will see traditional Berber villages and green farms. Continue via Ait Ben Hadou & Ouarzazate the capital of cinema in Morocco. Continue through Rose valley. Arrive the impressive Gorges of Dades and check into hotel.
2nd Day : Dades Valley - Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, drive to the Sahara desert through one of the dramatic sights of Morocco - Todra Gorges. It is an ideal place for walking and exploring in your own.
Set off to the Sahara desert for Morocco's unique dunes. Its here that you will start a camel trip into the middle of the dunes for an overnight camp in nomad tent.
3rd Day : Erg Chebbi - Marrakech
You will wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the dunes and for sand climbs. Have your breakfast before driving little further to Marrakech through Rissani, one of the oldest cities in Morocco and the capital of density Alaouit. This spot was centuries ago a very busy commercial trade centre located in sub-Sahararan Africa and to the North. Continue through the beautiful Draa valley. Keep your eyes open for old Kasbahs and fortified villages. In the evening, arrive Marrakech and check into the hotel.
Day 1 : Fes - Merzouga
Drive to Merzouga via Azrou forest where you will stop to see the little monkeys climbing the cider trees. Continue through Ziz valley with its thousands of palm trees and then set off to Erfoud, the desert gate, from there you will take an off road of 30 km to reach Merzouga. You will be transferred back the Auberge and from there you will start the camel ride. Spending overnight in the dunes under nomad tent.
Day 2 : Erg Chebbi Dunes - Ouarzazate
You will wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the dunes and then ride back your camels to the Auberge, where you will have breakfast before continuing the trip through Rissani, one of the oldest cities in Morocco. This spot was centuries ago a very busy commercial trade centre in the sub-Saharan Africa and to the North. Set off through Todra Ggorges, the so called 'The Grand Canyon of Morocco'. Continue through the road of Thousands Kasbahs via Dades Valley, rose valley and Skoura palm tree oasis. Arrive Ouarzazate and check into the hotel.
Day 3 : Ouarzazate - Marrakech
After breakfast you will drive for about 1 hour from Ouarzazate to see a UNESCO heritage site, its the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where many famous movies were filmed such as 'Babel', 'Gladiator' and 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Continue to Marrakech over the high Atlas through Tizi N'tshka Pass. On the side of the mountains you will see host of Berber villages. Arrive Marrakech and the end of the trip.
